How to download a PDF statement from Truist.
Sign in to Truist
Go to truist.com and sign in. The web app is more reliable than mobile for downloads — phone exports are sometimes image-only PDFs, which are harder to parse.
Pick the account
From the account list, open the checking, savings, or credit card account you want to convert.
Open Statements & Documents
Statements are grouped by year and listed by month. Truist keeps roughly 18 months online; older copies can be requested by phone.
Download the month
Click the PDF for the statement period you want and save it to your computer.
Drop into Sortlumo
Drag the PDF into the upload zone. Wait about ten seconds. Browse, filter, export to Excel.
NoteIf a statement is older than the online window, Truist can mail or email a copy — those arrive as the same text-based PDF Sortlumo parses.
Exactly what we extract from your Truist statement.
Every transaction line
Date, posted date, description, merchant, amount, and the running balance — all extracted, never re-typed.
Normalized merchants
SQ*TARTINE becomes Tartine Bakery. NETFLIX.COM 866-579 becomes Netflix. AMZN MKTP US becomes Amazon.
22 categories
Groceries, Dining, Transport, Fuel, Subscriptions, Utilities, Housing, Income, Transfers, Fees, and 12 more — applied consistently across every statement.
Subscription detection
Recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual charges flagged automatically with annualized cost so you can prioritize cancellations.
From categorized view to .xlsx, instantly.
Pick a date range, filter by category or merchant, and download the result as Excel. The export carries whatever categories are on your transactions, including any you changed by hand.
Truist statement questions, answered.
Does this work for Truist One Checking and Truist Money Account statements?
Yes. Truist uses a consistent statement layout across its deposit accounts, so checking, savings, and money market PDFs all parse the same way.
Can I convert Truist credit card statements too?
Yes. Truist credit card PDFs are text-based and parse with the same merchant normalization and categorization as deposit accounts.
What about SunTrust or BB&T statements from before the merger?
If the PDF is text-based rather than a scan, Sortlumo will parse it. Legacy SunTrust and BB&T layouts differ from current Truist ones, so check the preview before exporting a large batch.
How many Truist statements can I convert at once?
Up to 10 in a single batch on every plan. They process in parallel and finish in roughly the time of the slowest one.
