Upload a password-protected PDF

Unlock an encrypted statement so Sortlumo can read it.

Banks often protect statement PDFs with a password — usually the last four digits of your account or SSN, your date of birth, or your postal code. Check the email the statement came in; the format is almost always described there.

  1. 1

    Upload as normal

Drag the encrypted PDF into the upload zone. Sortlumo detects that it's locked.

  2. 2

    Enter the password

When prompted, type the PDF password. Sortlumo uses it once to unlock the file for reading.

  3. 3

    Continue

The statement parses exactly like an unprotected one.

The password isn't stored

The PDF password is used only to open the file for parsing. It isn't saved, and it's never your online-banking password — Sortlumo never asks for that.
