Quick start

From sign-up to a categorized statement in three steps.

Here's the fastest path from a fresh account to a fully categorized statement. The whole thing takes about a minute of your time — most of it is Sortlumo doing the reading.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Sign up with an email and password at sortlumo.com/signup. No credit card required for the free plan. You'll be asked to verify your email — see Verify your email.

  2. 2

    Drop in a statement PDF

From your dashboard, drag a bank or credit-card statement into the upload zone (or click to browse). You can drop up to 10 at once. Most banks let you download statements as PDF from their website under Statements & documents.

  3. 3

    Watch it categorize

Sortlumo extracts every transaction, normalizes the merchant names, assigns categories, and flags anything recurring — usually in under 10 seconds per statement.

  4. 4

    Browse, filter, export

Explore your transactions by category, account, or date range. Re-categorize anything with a click. When you need the data elsewhere, export to Excel.

Prefer email?

You can also forward statement emails straight from your bank instead of downloading and uploading. See Add statements by email.

What counts as a statement?

Any text-based PDF statement from a bank or credit-card issuer — checking, savings, or credit card. Chase, Wells Fargo, American Express, Discover, Capital One, and most credit unions all work. Scanned or photographed statements and CSV files aren't supported today; see Supported banks & files.
